About the song.

“Pork and Beans” is a song from alternative rock band Weezer’s forthcoming album, Weezer (2008). It was released in digital form on April 24, 2008. It will be released in a physical format internationally on June 16, and in the UK on June 23. The track debuted at #19 on Billboard’s Modern Rock chart, the best opening there since Foo Fighters’ single “The Pretender” debuted at #16 in August 2007.

This was written by Cuomo as a reaction to a meeting with Geffen
where the band was told it needed to record more-commercial material. Cuomo remarked, “I came out of it pretty angry. But ironically, it inspired me to write another song.”Jacknife Lee produced the track with the band in early 2008.

On April 15, 2008 KROQ world premiered the song live and fans’ requests made it the number one song request of the night. According to Mediabase, the song has been added to several other alternative rock formatted radio stations since April 15.
